For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.  (Romans 1:20)

WHAT IS THE MARK OF THE BEAST?

You may wonder why all the fuss about what is known as the  Rapture of the church, why we emphasize Pre-Tribulation Rapture in our ministry when there seems to be so much controversy about the actual time of the return of Jesus Christ for his church.  Some speak of a Mid-Tribulation, Post-Tribulation, and even a Pre-Wrath Rapture despite the fact that the belief in Pre-Tribulation Rapture was at one time the dominant belief of the evangelicals and that the Bible supports this view the strongest.  It's like the belief in Christ. At one time salvation through Christ was the dominant belief among Christian churches, but these days there are many paths to God.  Well, I have been shown that there is a more important reason that the teaching of the Rapture and the Tribulation period should be taught by our churches and by us as believers in Christ.

These reasons, believe it or not, came about when I was assisting in teaching a Sunday school class for teens at a church I was visiting.  During my time with these teens, a section of the material I was using touched on what is known as "The Mark of the Beast".  To my surprise when questioning these teens, only one out of the ten students knew what "The Mark of the Beast" was.  The one student who did know was my own child.  The  more I thought about what had taken place in this class the more my heart was filled with heaviness. Why?  I am one of those who believes in the Pre-Tribulation Rapture of the church, and I had come to a very disheartening realization.  What will happen to all those who do not know about the Mark of The Beast after the Rapture happens.  The people, that even though they said they were, or acted like they were Christians, did not really accept Jesus Christ into their hearts. These are the people that just could not or would not make that commitment to receive Christ's free gift.  All these people must go through the future nightmare known as the Tribulation.

We try to tell every one about Christ but we fail to warn them about what they will have to go through if they miss the return of Christ at the Rapture, or worse yet, that they will spend an eternity in Hell. If we do not explain to them about The Mark of the Beast--that if they take this mark they are damned for eternity--they will have to endure this terrible time called the Tribulation. If they would only turn to Christ for salvation. If we do not bother to warn them, then we are not doing our job as followers of Christ.  If they are not warned and are not Raptured as part of Christ's church, then they may wind up taking The Mark of the Beast and be damned simply because no one told them they should not take it or why.

What is the Mark of the Beast? The Bible tells us that a ruler will rise up having great powers.  This person will deceive many into believing he is the true Saviour of the world.  He will propose a tattoo or possibly an implantable microchip to be placed in the forehead or the right hand.  The hand in the days of Christ would have been from the shoulder to the tips of the fingers.  There was no distinction between the arm and the hand, it was all considered the hand. You may be told that this Mark is for financial security, or medical records in case you get hurt, you may even be told for security reasons that by taking the mark it makes you a good patriot; but it's real purpose is that you are giving your allegiance to the one the Bible calls the Anti-Christ--Satan himself.  By taking this Mark you are rejecting Jesus Christ to follow Satan.  Once you have taken this Mark there is no turning back, you are damned for eternity.  At first the Mark may be voluntary, but then it will be made mandatory.  The penalty for not taking the Mark and rejecting Jesus Christ will be your death.  Do not take this Mark for any reason.  Eternal life with Jesus Christ far outweighs the cost of your life here on earth, or an eternity of torture, pain and suffering that you will receive in Hell.  Read what God tells us about The Mark of the Beast.

Revelation 17:13-18 "And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.  Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six."

Revelation 14:9-11  "And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name."

Some people will say Christians are using scare tactics to get them to believe in Christ.  God's Word tells us in Jude 1:22-23 "And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh."

Some people will call Christians zealots and that they are pushing their views on others. My reply to them in these cases is to ask a question, "If you had a friend or family member who you know was going to be hurt or even killed, would you warn them or even put your own life in jeopardy to save them from being hurt?"  Well this is the mindset of the believer in Christ.  The job of the believer in Christ is to warn others that if they wait too long to receive Christ as their Saviour they may have to pay with their own blood. They may now have to die for Christ. That it is the blood of Christ that has saved them.

In Ezekiel 3:18-19 God says "When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul."

In Ezekiel 33:6  "But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand."

For Christians that are reading this, think about it. Now ask yourself this question, "Am I doing all there is to do as a servant of God, for my family and friends, for all whom I come into contact with?" Jesus said in Matthew 24:45-46 "Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?  Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing."

Do we as follower's of Christ dare take the chance and lose even one of God's precious little ones, because of pride or the fear of being laughed at? I myself will not take that chance. I would rather be called a fool and a fanatic, and continue to prepare anyone who will listen about God's plan for this world and after.

Revelation 22:20 "He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly.  Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus."
